How do we analyze your health?

Your raw ancestry test data file contains information on about 600,000 DNA base pairs, which are the famous letters A, T, C, and G.
In fact, not all of this information is considered informative for ancestry.
A large part of this data is related to your health characteristics.

SNPs

SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) are the simplest type of variations in our DNA.

Thousands of SNPs are known to determine our genetic traits such as eye and skin color, disease resistance, as well as many other health conditions and nutritional characteristics.

On average, we report about 50,000 SNPs in your raw DNA data, related to more than 2,500 genetic conditions.

Polygenic
risks

Many genetic predispositions are caused by the combination of multiple SNPs. These are polygenic conditions.

We calculate your Polygenic Risk (PR) for various diseases such as Alzheimer's, Anemia, Breast Cancer, Hypertension, and many others.

You can browse the details of the analysis, the SNPs found, the genetic interpretation, the description of the condition and several scientific references for you to delve into.

Polygenic Risks

We calculate your polygenic risk (PRS) to several genetic conditions, which is a score that shows how your genetic profile fits in with the rest of the population.
